The Minister of Agriculture discusses with the Agricultural Engineers and the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate a number of issues and the development of agricultural legislation.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, accompanied by Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Bader Hawamdeh, held an expanded meeting with the Head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, Engineer Younis Yameen, Engineer Awda Sabarna, the Head of the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate, Dr. Abdul Karim Abu Zneid, and Dr. Khaled Nu'airat. The meeting aimed to follow up on the implementation of the previous agreement and discuss mechanisms for developing the work environment and improving the conditions of workers in the agricultural sector.

Also present from the Ministry of Agriculture were Engineer Amjad Salah, Assistant Undersecretary for the Technical Sector, Ms. Ghadeer Abu Al-Rub, the Ministry's Legal Advisor, and Engineer Hisham Ayad, the Minister's Advisor for Special Tasks.

During the meeting, Professor Slaimiya emphasized the government's commitment to protecting the rights of public sector employees, recognizing their pivotal role in serving the agricultural sector and enhancing food security. The meeting focused on addressing the issue of regularizing the employment of agricultural engineers and veterinarians working on a daily wage basis, finalizing the procedures related to the regulations and laws governing the work of the two syndicates, and enacting the Veterinary Preparations Law.

The Minister expressed the Ministry’s full readiness to follow up on all financial matters and issues related to the two unions. A joint follow-up committee was formed, comprising representatives from the Ministry and the two unions, which will hold periodic meetings to monitor the implementation of rights and ensure that work is proceeding according to the specified timetables, in addition to continuing coordination to hold an upcoming meeting with the Ministry of Finance to discuss joint financial files and complete them in a way that guarantees the rights of all workers.
