Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Agriculture Directorate receives a 50 KW solar power station project for the Pharaoh (Farou'n) irrigation well in cooperation with Islamic Relief - France to serve farmers in the region.

Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture received the final handover of a solar power station for a well in the modern irrigation project in the town of Far'un on Monday, April 27, 2026. The project was implemented in cooperation with Islamic Relief – France.

The project, part of the "Improving Livelihoods and Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change" initiative, was funded by Islamic Relief – France and supervised and implemented by the Directorate of Agriculture. A 50-kilowatt-hour solar power station was installed to power the well.

The project aims to enhance farmers' ability to cope with the repercussions of climate change by reducing the costs of extracting water for agriculture. This will positively impact water prices and improve agricultural production.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Ashraf Anabtawi, and the Director of Islamic Relief, Engineer Dalal Attari, along with technical staff from both the Directorate and the organization. Anabtawi emphasized that this project represents a significant step towards supporting farming families and improving their income. He stressed the importance of partnerships with international organizations in promoting sustainable rural development and commended Islamic Relief France for its efforts in funding and implementing projects that empower farmers and promote the use of alternative energy sources.

For her part, Attari affirmed the importance of implementing such projects, given their significant role in empowering farmers by reducing water costs, mitigating the negative impacts of climate change, and enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
