Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Agriculture Directorate signs an agreement with Islamic Relief (France) and the Modern Irrigation Project Well Committee/Pharaoh to establish a 50 kW solar power station

Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture signed an agreement with Islamic Relief (France) and the Modern Irrigation Project Well Committee/Pharaoh (Faro'un village) to establish a 50 kW/h solar power station. This project falls under the "Improving Livelihoods and Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change" initiative and is being implemented under the supervision of the Directorate of Agriculture.

The project aims to enhance farmers' ability to cope with the repercussions of climate change by reducing the costs of extracting water for agriculture. This will positively impact water prices and improve farmers' incomes through the use of alternative energy sources and the operation of the well using solar power. Installation work is expected to be completed within two weeks of the agreement signing date.

The signing ceremony took place at the project site, attended by the Director General, Engineer Ashraf Anabtawi, the Director of the Technical Department, Engineer Firas Blih, representatives of the implementing organization, and members of the Modern Irrigation Project Well Committee, the beneficiaries of the project. Anabtawi stressed that this project represents an important step towards supporting agricultural families and enhancing their resilience, emphasizing the importance of partnership with international institutions in driving sustainable rural development, and appreciating the role of Islamic Relief - France in supporting and empowering farmers and promoting the use of renewable energy in the agricultural sector.
