The Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture, with partners, support agricultural cooperatives and youth groups, benefiting 100 people across several villages

Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Rural Women's Development Association and in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), implemented a series of development interventions targeting agricultural cooperatives and youth groups in the governorate. These interventions were part of the project "Strengthening Resilience in Women-Led Agricultural Cooperatives through Crisis-Responsive Business Models," stemming from the third phase of the "Enhancing Sustainable Livelihoods in Rural Areas" program, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The interventions included supplying and installing a greenhouse for the Al-Jaroushiya Youth Agricultural Group, as well as providing packaging materials to four cooperative societies in the governorate: the Kafr Al-Labad Consumer Cooperative Society, the Kafr Abboush Agricultural Services Cooperative Society, the Bal'a Food Processing Cooperative Society, and the Saida Women's Cooperative Society.

These interventions benefited approximately 100 individuals and are part of efforts to enhance the production and marketing capacities of agricultural cooperatives and youth groups, thereby contributing to improved livelihoods, particularly in rural areas.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these interventions are part of its commitment to supporting farmers' resilience and strengthening the role of agricultural cooperatives, especially those led by women, given their importance in creating job opportunities and supporting the local economy, as well as their role in promoting the economic and social stability of rural families.

The Ministry emphasizes its continued commitment to expanding partnerships with local and international institutions to achieve sustainable agricultural development and enhance the ability of rural communities to overcome challenges.
