In response to the urgent needs of affected farmers, Salfit Agriculture Directorate implemented an emergency intervention for six livestock farmers in the town of Kafr ad-Dik. This intervention included providing six bales of straw, each weighing one ton, and six water tanks with a capacity of 1.5 cubic meters, following their displacement from the Khallat al-Haramiya area west of Kafr ad-Dik.

This response came after the farmers, who were raising their sheep in Area C, were evicted from Khallat al-Haramiya and the sheds they used for raising their livestock were demolished about a month ago. This directly harmed their livelihoods and imposed exceptional circumstances requiring urgent intervention to secure the basic needs of their livestock.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this intervention falls within its responsibility towards farmers and livestock breeders, and its commitment to standing by them in the face of the difficult circumstances they are experiencing. The Ministry is committed to providing all possible support and assistance within its available resources to help them continue working and producing, and to preserve their livelihoods. This response is being implemented with the support and follow-up of the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, as part of the Ministry's efforts to strengthen the resilience of farmers and respond to urgent needs in the most affected areas, particularly for farmers facing displacement and attacks targeting their livelihoods and agricultural and livestock activities.

The Ministry emphasizes its continued commitment to monitoring the needs of farmers and working to provide interventions within available resources and capabilities, thereby bolstering their resilience and preserving the agricultural sector and the livelihoods of rural families.
