Ministry of Agriculture: Salfit Agriculture Directorate conducts two workshops in Salfit and Iskaka with the participation of 30 women to enhance agricultural production and food processing skills

The Rural Development Department at the Salfit Directorate of Agriculture conducted two training workshops aimed at empowering women in the agricultural and food processing sectors. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to enhance livelihoods in rural areas.

The workshops, presented by Engineer Maysaa Maakousa, focused on mushroom cultivation. Fifteen women from Salfit participated in the first workshop, held in cooperation with the Women's Department of the Directorate of Religious Endowments. The workshop emphasized the fundamentals of mushroom cultivation and its importance as a home-based income-generating project.

The second workshop, held in the town of Iskaka, also targeted 15 women and focused on grape processing, including the production of raisins and grape molasses. Practical processing methods and the importance of adding value to agricultural products were reviewed.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these activities are part of its programs aimed at supporting and empowering rural women and strengthening their role in agricultural production and food processing, thereby contributing to improved household incomes and enhanced food security in the governorate.
