North Hebron Agriculture Directorate , with partners, distributed 15,750 seedlings and seeds to 21 beneficiaries in Halhul to establish home gardens, funded by the Creek Foundation

North Hebron Agriculture Directorate distributed vegetable seedlings and agricultural seeds to 21 beneficiaries in the town of Halhul. This distribution is part of the "Contributing to Food Security for Families in Rural Areas of the Southern West Bank" project, implemented by the Land Research Center and funded by the Creek Foundation, in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Social Development.

Each beneficiary received approximately 750 seedlings, totaling 15,750 seedlings, at a cost of 10,000 shekels. In addition, seeds for various crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, gherkins, okra, beans, pumpkins, thyme, peppers, and bell peppers, were provided. These seeds will be used to cultivate home gardens covering approximately half a dunam (0.5 acres), thus enhancing the families' ability to produce their own food.

The distribution also included the Land Research Center and funded by the Creek Foundation, in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Social Development. The handover took place in the presence of the Director General of  the North Hebron Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Osama Jarar, the Director of the Extension Services Department, Engineer Jamal Salimiya, and the project coordinator from the Land Research Center, Engineer Iyas Abu Rabda, along with extension and rural development engineers from the directorate.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this intervention is part of its plans to empower rural women and enhance their resilience by supporting the household economy and improving food security through encouraging home gardening and providing its essential requirements, thus contributing to achieving sustainable agricultural development in rural areas.
