The Ministry of Agriculture, represented by the North Hebron Agriculture Directorateand in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted a participatory workshop to identify the training needs of farmers participating in the fourth phase of the EVAP project. Fifteen farmers from the North Hebron area took part in the session.
The workshop addressed the practical challenges farmers face in their agricultural work and the skills and knowledge required to enhance their production practices. It also focused on setting training priorities that align with both their actual needs and market demands.
Facilitated by Engineer Majdolin Al-Rajabi, the workshop underscored the importance of involving farmers in defining training priorities. Such engagement contributes to designing more effective extension programs, developing agricultural skills, improving marketing opportunities, and enhancing the value-added potential of agricultural products.
This workshop is part of the EVAP project activities—funded by JICA and implemented in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture—which aim to build farmers' capacities and upgrade agricultural extension services. These efforts seek to ensure that development interventions effectively address field-level needs while boosting farmers' competitiveness and market access.
