Ramallah: August 6, 2026

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Deir Dibwan Municipality and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), held a large informational meeting at Deir Dibwan Municipality to inform farmers and young people about the mechanism for benefiting from the wheat and barley cultivation support grant, funded by the Dutch government.

The meeting was well-attended by farmers and young people, and details of the grant were presented. The grant provides support of US$200 per dunam planted with wheat or barley, up to a maximum of US$1,000 per beneficiary for planting five dunams.

Due to the high demand for the program, the deadline for registration at Deir Dibwan Municipality has been extended until next Wednesday. Applicants must be young men and women between the ages of 18 and 29, and must meet the project's criteria and conditions. The project aims to cultivate at least 250 dunams of wheat and barley in the town of Deir Dibwan, contributing to the protection and resilience of agricultural lands, encouraging land investment and expanding the cultivated area, as well as supporting youth and creating sustainable income opportunities for them.

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Directorate of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of this initiative in enhancing food security and supporting the resilience of farmers and young people, calling on all eligible young men and women to register with Deir Dibwan Municipality and take advantage of this opportunity.
