The executive team for the agricultural assistance program at Yatta Agriculture and Veterinary Directorate held a meeting today, Thursday, with 19 farmers selected to benefit from the EU-funded agricultural assistance program (Phase II). The meeting took place at the Directorate’s headquarters in Yatta.
The meeting aimed to familiarize farmers with the requirements and disbursement mechanisms for the grant, as well as the necessary documentation to finalize the application process. It also involved reviewing the agricultural projects proposed for implementation under the program and discussing how to utilize the support to develop projects and enhance the sustainability of agricultural production.
The executive team emphasized the importance of directing support toward bolstering farmers' resilience and developing their productive capacities. This approach aims to improve their income sources, protect and cultivate their land, and strengthen their ability to sustain agricultural operations.
Nineteen farmers benefited from the program in this phase, with total compensation amounting to approximately €100,000 (equivalent to about 352,000 NIS). This underscores the program's significance in supporting the agricultural sector and empowering farmers to develop their projects and improve their sustainability.
