Ministry of Agriculture: Bethlehem Agriculture Directorate completes verification rounds of crop cultivation for 201 beneficiaries on ​​553 dunams within the Green Jobs Project in partnership with FAO

The Ministry of Agriculture's teams in Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture completed field visits to the towns of Kisan, Za'tara, and Tuqu' to monitor farmers benefiting from the "Green Jobs and Sustainable Income Opportunities for Young Palestinian Men and Women in the Agricultural and Food Sector" project.

The visits were attended by the Head of the Field Crops Department, Engineer Rizq Ghayada, and Engineer Qusay Al-Qadi, representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The visits aimed to verify the cultivation of the targeted crops and monitor the beneficiaries' adherence to the plan approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The targeted crops within the project include lentils, chickpeas, vetch, and alfalfa, in accordance with the approved technical plans. The project is funded by the Danish government, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and under the supervision and monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture. The project in Bethlehem Governorate benefits 201 farmers across a total area of ​​553 dunams. Field verification is currently underway to assess crop cultivation and compliance with approved eligibility criteria.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this project is part of its ongoing efforts to bolster farmers' resilience, create sustainable employment opportunities for youth, contribute to food security, and support agricultural development in Palestine.
