Ministry of Agriculture: Bethlehem Agriculture Directorate conducts specialized training for 22 female farmers in Marah Rabah in partnership with the FAO and with support from the European Union

Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and with support from the European Union, conducted specialized training for 22 female farmers from the village of Marah Rabah in the Bethlehem Governorate. This training was part of a project to develop and enhance the livestock sector in Palestine.

This training is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to strengthen the capacities of livestock breeders and develop the skills of rural women in managing agricultural and production projects, thereby contributing to improved food security and higher quality local livestock products.

The two-day training included specialized technical and practical modules on sheep farm management, best practices in care, breeding, and health prevention, mechanisms for producing high-quality milk and dairy products, and the processing of dairy products in a healthy and safe manner according to approved technical and health standards.

The training was conducted by a team of engineers and specialists from the Bethlehem Governorate Directorate of Agriculture. The focus was on the theoretical and practical aspects that would enhance the farmers' efficiency and enable them to implement sound agricultural practices in their production projects. The Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture affirms that these training activities are part of ongoing efforts to develop the livestock sector and empower women working within it, contributing to improved production quality, increased economic returns for rural families, and enhanced resilience among Palestinians on their land.

This activity is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and the FAO, with support from the European Union, aimed at developing the livestock sector and upgrading the animal value chain, which will positively impact food security and sustainable agricultural development in Palestine.
