Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture conducted a field inspection tour of several olive oil mills across the governorate to assess their readiness for the olive pressing season and verify their compliance with approved regulations and guidelines.
The tour involved inspecting mill operations and their adherence to technical, sanitary, and safety standards. The objective was to ensure a safe working environment, maintain olive oil quality and product safety, and organize pressing operations in accordance with established protocols.
During the tour, representatives from the Directorate of Agriculture—Engineer Adnan Abu Srour (Head of the Agricultural Control Division) and Engineer Yousef Salah (Head of the Olive Division), accompanied by specialized staff—issued operating permits to mills that met all necessary conditions and requirements. This step aims to ensure the pressing season begins efficiently and to reinforce adherence to approved standards throughout the pressing and production processes.
Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring and oversight of olive oil mills to ensure compliance with required regulations. This tour is part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s ongoing efforts—alongside its field directorates—to oversee preparations for the olive season and strengthen supervision over production and marketing stages. These efforts contribute to the season's success, safeguard the quality of Palestinian olive oil, support the resilience of farmers, and preserve this authentic national product.
