Jericho and Jordan Valley Directorate of Agriculture, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), signed an investment support agreement with the "Palestinian Chef's Kitchen and Products" facility, represented by Ms. Hanan Dheeb Nayef Amash. The agreement aims to develop a food processing project in the Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate, as part of the activities of the MAP II program. Under the agreement, the project will be developed at a cost of 126,488 NIS, contributing to increased production capacity, improved quality of local food products, and enhanced competitiveness in the market.
This support comes within the framework of the MAP II program, implemented in partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and the FAO, with financial support from the governments of Denmark, the European Union, Spain, and Switzerland, and parallel funding from the Italian government. The program aims to empower small and medium-sized agricultural and food enterprises and promote investment and innovation in the agricultural and food sector. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these interventions are part of its efforts to strengthen food value chains and support agricultural processing, thereby contributing to sustainable economic development and enhancing the resilience of local producers.
For her part, beneficiary Hanan Ammash explained that this grant will provide a significant boost to the project's development and expansion of production, noting that the support will contribute to improving product quality and opening up broader marketing and development opportunities.
