Within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to enhance food security and support the resilience of agricultural families, Hebron Agriculture Directorate today carried out an activity to distribute home garden supplies to 10 beneficiary farmers in the town of Taffouh in Hebron Governorate, as part of the project “Nourishing and Caring for Palestinian Children through Agriculture.”
The project is being implemented with funding from the DIAKONIA Foundation and Radio Helen, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and local partners, and in cooperation with the Municipality of Taffouh.
The distributed supplies included materials for creating and developing home gardens, including swimming pools, corners, and wires, with the aim of enabling the beneficiary families to create productive home gardens that contribute to providing part of their food needs, enhance their ability to self-reliance, and improve their standard of living.
The project aims to enhance food security among children and beneficiary families, develop agricultural skills, and support children’s psychological and social health through agricultural training and psychological support sessions, which contributes to building a more stable environment and the ability to face challenges.
The Hebron Agriculture Directorate confirms that this activity comes within a series of development interventions aimed at empowering agricultural families and enhancing their resilience, by disseminating sustainable agricultural practices and developing home production, which will reflect positively on food security and the standard of living in the targeted areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture appreciates the efforts of all partners, represented by the DIAKONIA Foundation, Radio Helen, and the Municipality of Taffouh, for the support they provide that contributes to the success of the project and the achievement of its development and social goals for the benefit of children and beneficiary families in Hebron Governorate.
