Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate helds the first meeting of the committee tasked with assessing sectoral damages in Jerusalem Governorate. The committee comprises representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Jerusalem Governorate, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, and the Directorate of Local Government. The meeting aimed to review the mechanism for documenting agricultural damages in the governorate.
This meeting comes amidst the fierce attacks on the agricultural sector by the Israeli occupation, including assaults targeting agricultural lands and farmers. This situation necessitates strengthening joint efforts to professionally and systematically assess and document agricultural damages.
During the meeting, participants discussed mechanisms for work and coordination among partner organizations to ensure accurate documentation of agricultural damages and the updating of data. This will contribute to supporting farmers' resilience and enabling them to continue working their agricultural lands.
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of strengthening partnerships and cooperation among relevant official institutions to serve the agricultural sector, protect agricultural lands, and bolster the resilience of citizens in the Jerusalem Governorate.
