The Ministry of Agriculture receives a project to extend an agricultural water pipeline in addition to a high-efficiency pump in Sheikh Al-Aroub, implemented by the Land Research Center, the Hydrologists Group, and the “Ta’aeon” Foundation.

The Ministry of Agriculture received today, Thursday, a project to install a high-efficiency water pump and construct a 980-meter water pipeline in l Shioukh al-Arroub area of ​​Hebron Governorate. Representatives from the Land Research Center, the Welfare Association, Shioukh al-Arroub Village Council, and the Water Users Association were present at the handover. This step aims to strengthen agricultural water infrastructure and improve the efficiency of water resource management.

The project is being implemented as part of the Water, Land, and Agricultural Roads Investment Program, managed by the Welfare Association. The Land Research Center is undertaking the project in partnership with the Palestinian Hydrologists Group, under the technical supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. This initiative is part of national efforts to enhance water harvesting, improve water use efficiency, and support sustainable agricultural development.

The project is expected to improve the efficiency of water pumping and transmission, reduce water loss, ensure more efficient water delivery to agricultural lands, lower irrigation and operating costs, and enhance the sustainability of water services provided to farmers. The project directly benefits approximately 150 dunams of agricultural land planted with fruit trees and vegetables, which will positively impact the stability of agricultural production, improve land productivity, and enhance farmers' ability to cope with the challenges of water scarcity and climate change.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that the implementation of this project embodies the partnership approach between governmental, non-governmental, and international institutions in developing the agricultural sector's infrastructure. It also reflects the Ministry's commitment to continuing to implement high-quality projects that contribute to increasing water use efficiency, enhancing water harvesting, and achieving water and food security, thereby supporting the resilience of Palestinian farmers and the sustainability of agricultural development across all governorates.
