The Ministry of Agriculture completes the implementation of the “Green, Pollution-Free Beit Fajjar” campaign as part of the Greening Palestine campaign.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Salimiya, and the Governor of Bethlehem Governorate, Brother Muhammad Taha, and within the Greening of Palestine campaign launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bethlehem Governorate Agriculture Directorate continues to implement the activities of the “Green, Pollution-Free Beit Fajjar” campaign, with wide participation from official and civil partners in the governorate.

The activities during the previous days included continuing the planting of forest and shade trees in a number of locations within the town of Beit Fajjar, with the aim of increasing green spaces, reducing environmental pollution, and enhancing the climate balance in the region.

The activity was carried out in the presence and participation of: Bethlehem Governorate, Beit Fajjar Municipality, the Security Institution, Fatah Movement, the Local Government Directorate, the Endowments Directorate, the Jerusalem Electricity Company, the Galaxy Training Institute, the Friends of the Hospital Committee, the Palestinian Red Crescent Volunteers, the Beit Fajjar Workers Union, and the Public Relations and Media Association of Bethlehem’s official and private institutions.

The Director General of the Bethlehem Governorate Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Abdul Wahab Halayqa, and the Director of the Technical Department, Engineer Khaled Hassasna, participated in the tree planting event. They stressed the importance of these activities in enhancing environmental and community awareness, and their role in improving the environmental reality in the town.

This event comes as a continuation of a series of activities that were launched on the occasion of Arbor Day. The campaign will continue over several months, during which thousands of forest and shade trees will be planted, provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of its efforts to green Palestine, protect the environment, and promote sustainable agricultural development.
