Tulkarem: April 22, 2026
The technical committee at the Ministry of Agriculture received a pioneering agricultural project in plum production, in partnership with Tulkarem Agriculture Directorate, as part of the agricultural grants activity of the "Sanet" project. This project targeted farms in the Tulkarem Governorate. The handover took place in the presence of the specialized technical committee and in coordination with the Palestinian Employment Fund. All equipment underwent rigorous technical inspection to ensure its compliance with international specifications and its adherence to approved quality standards.
The "Sanet" project is implemented by the CIHEAM Bari Institute in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Palestinian Employment Fund, and with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). The projects focused on providing farmers with modern technology that contributes to the development of the fruit tree sector. The grant included irrigation networks, plum seedlings, and protective fencing. Engineer Auda Sabarneh, the national coordinator of the "Sanet" project at the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasized that these interventions are part of the Ministry's strategic vision to enhance the resilience of farmers in rural and marginalized areas. The project represents a successful model of international cooperation, as Italian support contributes to enabling the Palestinian farmer to own the tools of production, thus achieving economic sustainability in light of the current challenges.
