Ministry of Agriculture: Received pioneering projects to develop alternative feed in Hebron within the "Sanet" project funded by the Italians and implemented by the CIHEAM Bari Institute in cooperation with the Palestinian Employment Fund

The technical committee at the Ministry of Agriculture received two pioneering agricultural projects in the field of alternative animal feed production. This handover, which included teams from the North Hebron and Yatta Agriculture Directorates, was part of the agricultural grants program of the "Saneet" project, targeting farmers in the towns of Beit Ula and Al-Dhahiriya in Hebron Governorate.

The projects were received in the presence of the specialized technical committee and in coordination with the Palestinian Employment Fund. All equipment underwent rigorous technical inspection to ensure its compliance with international specifications and quality standards. The "Saneet" project is implemented by the CIHEAM Bari Institute in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Palestinian Employment Fund, and with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). The projects focused on providing farmers with modern technology that contributes to the development of the livestock sector. This included establishing integrated units for the production of alternative animal feed, rehabilitating sheep-rearing facilities, and providing advanced equipment for the local manufacturing and preparation of animal feed. These measures aim to reduce production costs and improve the nutritional value of the feed. Engineer Uda Sabarneh, the national coordinator of the "Sanet" project at the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that these interventions come within the Ministry's strategic vision to enhance the resilience of farmers in rural and marginalized areas, noting that the project constitutes a successful model of international cooperation, as Italian support contributes to enabling the Palestinian farmer to own the tools of production and reduce dependence on imported feed, thus achieving economic sustainability in light of the current challenges.
