The Ministry of Agriculture participated in the opening of the 8th Marketing Days event for grapes and women-produced goods in Bethlehem Governorate. The event was held in the town of Al-Khader, with participation of various official and community institutions and figures, with the aim of supporting local agricultural production, enhancing marketing opportunities.

Mr. Tariq Abu Laban, Assistant Undersecretary for the Economic Sector, represented the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, at the event. He was joined by the Director General of Bethlehem Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Abdul Wahab Al-Halaika, along with several directorate staff members. Abu Laban conveyed the Minister’s greetings to the participants and attendees, emphasizing that "agriculture is about people, land, and water, and these products come at the cost of blood, given the hardships Palestinian farmers endure." He stressed the necessity of solidarity and cooperation among Palestinians to protect the land and agricultural production and to bolster the farmers' steadfastness.

He noted that grapes are a vital agricultural crops, affirming that the Ministry of Agriculture stands with farmers in the face of attacks by the Israeli occupation and settler groups. He pledged that the Ministry would continue to provide all possible support and assistance to farmers, strengthening their ability to keep cultivating their lands and producing their crops.

The Ministry emphasizes that supporting agricultural marketing is a crucial component of the support system for Palestinian farmers.

By providing spaces to showcase, promote products and by connecting farmers directly with consumers, the initiative boosts demand for national products, supports farmers' incomes, and ensures the continuity of the production process. The marketing event continues for three days and features the display and sale of grapes, alongside various local agricultural and women-produced goods. It offers an opportunity to showcase Palestinian production, encourage citizens to buy local products, and support farmers and producers.

The event is organized by the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Al-Khader Municipality. It is part of the project "Strengthening Resilience and Improving Livelihoods for Farmers and Communities Vulnerable to Climate Change," and funded by the World Food Programme (WFP).
