The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and the Land Research Center, signed economic empowerment agreements for 12 families in the town of Halhul. This initiative is part of a project aimed at enhancing food security for families in rural areas of the southern West Bank.

The project is being implemented by the Land Research Center with funding from the CRIC Foundation, in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Social Development, as part of joint efforts to support and empower economically vulnerable families and improve their livelihoods.

The agreements include the establishment of six home gardens, where beneficiary families will be provided with irrigation networks, water tanks, pumps, and fertilizers. This will enhance home production and achieve partial self-sufficiency.

The agreements also include providing six other families with laying hens (chickens and cages) and one ton of feed for each unit, contributing to a sustainable source of income for these families. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these interventions are part of its plans in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development to enhance the resilience of rural families, achieve food security, and support the economic empowerment of the most vulnerable groups in the targeted areas.
