Ministry of Agriculture signed two agreements to establish a new park in Tamoun on an area of ​​27 dunams and to expand Tubas park by 10 dunams to promote development and protect state lands.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, signed two agreements today at the Ministry's headquarters in Ramallah with the municipalities of Tammoun and Tubas to implement two projects aimed at developing public facilities and investing in state-owned land. The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley, Mr. Abdullah Abu Mohsen, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Bader Hawamdeh, assistant undersecretaries, the Director General of the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Omar Bisharat, and several other directors general from the Ministry. These agreements are part of the Ministry's efforts to promote local development, support the resilience of citizens, and follow up on the outcomes of the Minister's recent field visit to Tubas Governorate, during which he assessed the needs of local authorities and the community.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley, Mr. Abdullah Abu Mohsen, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Bader Hawamdeh, assistant undersecretaries, the Director General of the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Omar Bisharat, and a number of directors general from the Ministry.

 Slaimiya emphasized that the Ministry views these projects as both a national and developmental investment. They not only establish and develop public facilities to serve citizens, but also contribute to the optimal use of state lands, keeping them inhabited and utilized. This strengthens the Palestinian presence on these lands and supports their protection from confiscation attempts and encroachments by the occupation authorities and settler groups. He added that the Ministry is committed to expanding its partnerships with municipalities and local councils to implement sustainable development projects that improve services provided to citizens, preserve the environment and vegetation, and bolster the resilience of our people on their land. He affirmed that developing public facilities is a fundamental part of the Ministry's strategy for protecting the land and establishing sustainable development.

The first agreement, signed with the Mayor of Tammoun, Mr. Mustafa Bisharat, involves the establishment of a new park on 27 dunams of land. This park will serve as a public space for the residents of the town and surrounding areas, contributing to the utilization and continued use of state-owned land. This will enhance land protection, support local development, and provide a public space that meets citizens' needs while preserving the environment and vegetation. The second agreement, signed with the Mayor of Tubas, Mr. Mahmoud Daraghmeh, concerns the expansion of the existing Tubas Park by 10 dunams. This expansion will improve the park's facilities, increase its visitor capacity, enhance services for citizens, and strengthen its role as a public amenity serving the local community.

For his part, the Director General of the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Omar Bisharat, affirmed that the two agreements represent the fruitful of the continuous field follow-up carried out by the Directorate in cooperation with the Ministry and local authorities, noting that the two projects will constitute a qualitative addition to public facilities in the governorate. In turn, the Mayor of Tammoun, Mr. Mustafa Bisharat, appreciated the Ministry of Agriculture’s support for the establishment of the new park, stressing that it will constitute an important outlet for citizens and contribute to enhancing local development. The Mayor of Tubas, Mr. Mahmoud Daraghmeh, also praised the Ministry’s response to the municipality’s needs through the expansion of the existing park, stressing that the project will contribute to developing services provided to citizens and enhancing the actual use of state lands in a way that serves the community and preserves the land.
