The Ministry of Agriculture continues its veterinary vaccination campaign, administering 16,098 doses today across six governorates.

⭕ 11,968 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for sheep as part of the national vaccination campaign.
⭕ 2,530 doses against brucellosis and 1,300 doses against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR).
⭕ 300 doses against sheep pox.

Northern Governorates: September 9, 2026

The Ministry of Agriculture, through its veterinary service departments and directorates, continues to implement a veterinary vaccination campaign across several governorates. The initiative aims to enhance prevention against epidemic animal diseases, protect livestock, and support sheep breeders. A total of 16,098 doses have been administered, benefiting 315 farmers and breeders.
In Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate, 800 sheep were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, benefiting 15 breeders. Additionally, 3,692 doses against foot-and-mouth disease were administered to sheep—benefiting 79 farmers—in the areas of Marj Na'ja, Marj al-Ghazal, Al-Zubeidat, and Al-Jiftlik, bringing the total number of vaccinations in the governorate to 4,492 doses.
In Hebron Governorate, vaccinations covered 50 head against brucellosis, 150 head against foot-and-mouth disease, and 100 head against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), benefiting 11 breeders in Al-Kasara and Tarqumiya areas. In Jerusalem Governorate, 292 head of livestock were vaccinated against brucellosis in Jaba’ and Khan al-Ahmar, benefiting 46 farmers, while 4,523 head were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, benefiting 76 farmers; additionally, vaccinations in the village of Beit Anan covered 380 head against FMD and 250 head against brucellosis, benefiting 35 farmers.
In Jenin Governorate, vaccination campaigns were carried out involving 550 doses against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), 325 doses against brucellosis, and 200 doses against the SAT-1 strain of FMD in sheep, benefiting 14 livestock owners; further vaccinations included 600 doses against FMD, 725 doses against brucellosis, and 150 doses against PPR.
In Nablus Governorate, the Veterinary Department conducted a vaccination campaign in the village of Bazariya covering 800 doses against brucellosis, 500 doses against PPR, and 300 doses against sheep pox, benefiting 32 farmers.
In Bethlehem Governorate, 1,623 head were vaccinated against FMD and 88 head against brucellosis in Al-Fardis and Hindaza areas, with 7 livestock owners benefiting from the campaign.
These vaccinations are part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s ongoing efforts under the national veterinary vaccination campaign, aiming to achieve the highest possible vaccination coverage, curb the spread of animal diseases, and safeguard livestock health—thereby helping to protect livestock breeders' sources of income and enhance food security.
