The Ministry of Agriculture has begun vaccinating targeted sheep against brucellosis in Jenin Governorate

Under the directives of the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, and the supervision of the General Directorate of Veterinary Services, the Ministry of Agriculture, through Jenin Veterinary Directorate, began today, Thursday, the vaccination of targeted sheep against brucellosis (Malta fever).
This is part of the Ministry's efforts to control the disease, limit its spread, and protect livestock and public health.

The first day of the campaign saw the vaccination of approximately 1,500 sheep. Veterinary teams are continuing to carry out vaccinations in various targeted areas, according to the approved plan, ensuring access to the targeted flocks and strengthening preventive measures to limit the spread of the disease.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that the vaccination campaign is part of a comprehensive preventative approach implemented by the General Directorate of Veterinary Services. This approach aims to enhance herd health, reduce the spread of brucellosis among livestock, and minimize the risk of transmission to humans, thereby contributing to the protection of public health and supporting the sustainability of the livestock sector.

The Ministry calls upon the targeted sheep farmers to cooperate with the veterinary teams, facilitate their fieldwork, and adhere to the approved veterinary procedures and instructions. This cooperation is crucial for the campaign's success and for strengthening the effectiveness of animal disease control programs and limiting their spread.
