The Ministry of Agriculture, represented by the General Directorate of Agricultural Water and Irrigation and the Drought and Climate Change Monitoring Department, in cooperation with the Environment Quality Authority and Ampere Consulting, the firm tasked with developing the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0) document, held a meeting of the Technical Working Group for the Agriculture, Nutrition, and Climate Systems Sector. The meeting saw broad participation from agricultural sector partners.

This meeting, held at the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters and with participation via videoconference, was part of national efforts to update and develop the third Nationally Determined Contributions report. Discussions focused on assessing the climate vulnerability of the agricultural sector and reviewing the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the sector.

This meeting is part of a series of sectoral meetings targeting various sectors affected by climate change, with the aim of enhancing integration in the preparation of the national document and ensuring that it reflects actual needs and development priorities.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirmed its commitment, in cooperation with partners, to developing interventions and policies that would enhance the agricultural sector’s ability to adapt and withstand climate change, in light of the complex challenges, including restrictions on natural resources as a result of Israeli occupation policies, which directly affect the sustainability and development of the agricultural sector.
