Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, met today, Thursday, with the Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Authority, Engineer Ayman Ismaeel, to discuss ways to support the agricultural sector through the use of mobile solar energy systems equipped with storage systems. This aims to enhance the sustainability of agricultural services and improve the efficiency of renewable energy use in this vital sector.

The meeting, held at the Energy Authority headquarters in Ramallah and attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Bader Hawamdeh, addressed mechanisms for providing farmers with easily transportable mobile solar energy systems. The goal is to reduce operational burdens and ensure the continuity of agricultural production under the current circumstances. The meeting also discussed equipping agricultural directorates with solar energy systems and connecting them to an integrated energy network. This will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring the sustainability of services, and reducing electricity bills.

The two sides also discussed launching a joint national initiative between the energy and agriculture sectors, aimed at accelerating the integration of solar energy systems in wells and vital agricultural facilities, according to priorities and needs, and taking into account the geographical distribution of the different governorates, in line with the Palestinian government's strategy and plans to support sustainable development.

Ismaeel emphasized the importance of integration between the renewable energy and agriculture sectors, considering them strategic sectors to which the government gives special attention. He noted that the Energy Authority is working continuously to promote the use of renewable energy in various sectors, given its role in enhancing the stability of services, supporting the resilience of farmers, and alleviating operational burdens.

Ismaeel presented models of mobile solar energy systems that are easy to transport, move, and use in different agricultural locations, in accordance with farmers' needs and the requirements of agricultural work.

For his part, Minister Slaimiya commended the Energy Authority's efforts despite the current challenges and circumstances, stressing that integrating solar energy systems into the agricultural sector is a strategic step towards developing agricultural infrastructure and enhancing the sustainability of production. Slaimiya pointed out that the Energy Authority is a key partner supporting the agricultural sector, stressing the readiness of the Ministry of Agriculture to enhance joint cooperation in a way that contributes to supporting farmers and enhancing their ability to persevere and continue production.
