As part of the activities of the Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Project in the southern West Bank, implemented by Ma'an Development Center and Oxfam in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and with support from Italian Cooperation, the South Hebron Directorate of Agriculture distributed 130 tons of barley grain to sheep farmers in the western part of Dura. This initiative aims to support farmers' resilience and alleviate the economic burdens facing the livestock sector.

The distribution covered the communities of Al-Burj, Beit Marsam, Al-Bireh, Beit Al-Roush Al-Fouqa, Beit Al-Roush Al-Tahta, Deir Al-Asal Al-Fouqa, Deir Al-Asal Al-Tahta, Al-Majd, and Sikka. A total of 463 sheep farmers from these targeted communities benefited from this assistance.

Project officials emphasized that this aid is part of a joint effort to support farmers and livestock breeders in the affected areas and enhance their ability to continue agricultural and livestock production amidst the difficult economic conditions in the region. They noted that the project aims to provide essential production inputs to farmers and sheep breeders, contributing to the preservation of livestock herds and improving food security for beneficiary families.
