The Ministry of Agriculture and CIHEAM Bari Institute organize an advanced course on artificial intelligence applications in the agricultural sector within the "Saneet" project

The Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Italian CIHEAM Bari Institute, conducted an advanced training course on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the agricultural sector. This course was part of the "SANET" project, funded by Italian Cooperation, and included the participation of the project's technical committee and several ministry staff members.

The three-day training aimed to enhance participants' abilities to utilize AI tools in developing agricultural practices, improving resource management efficiency, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. This aligns with the ministry's focus on digital transformation and adopting modern technologies to serve the Palestinian agricultural sector.

The course covered a range of specialized topics, most notably the use of AI applications in analyzing agricultural data, monitoring production-related changes, and improving planning and follow-up mechanisms. It also reviewed practical models and modern applications that can be implemented in agricultural projects and programs.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Bader Al-Hawamdeh, emphasized that these training sessions significantly contribute to developing institutional performance and strengthening governance within the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as improving the efficiency of implementing various agricultural projects and programs. For his part, Engineer Auda Sabarna, the national coordinator of the “Sanet” project, stressed the importance of this course in raising the readiness of technical staff to deal with rapid digital transformations, and enhancing the ability of the agricultural sector to benefit from modern technological innovations, which contributes to improving productivity and sustainability and supporting the resilience of Palestinian farmers.
