The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Land Research Center and the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs, distributed six towed water tanks in Hizma, Mikhmas, Jaba', and the Jaba' Bedouin community as part of the "Sumud" project, funded by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency/Morocco.

Jerusalem Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Land Research Center and the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs, began distributing towed water tanks as part of the "Economic Empowerment of Jerusalemite Families through Agricultural Sector Development and Food Security Enhancement (Sumud)" project, funded by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency/Morocco. This initiative aims to support livestock breeders and strengthen their resilience.
The activity targeted livestock breeders in the areas of Hizma, Mikhmas, and Jaba', in addition to Jaba' Bedouin community. Six towed water tanks were distributed: one each to Hizma, Mikhmas, and Jaba', and three to Jaba' Bedouin community. These are part of a larger distribution of 15 tanks to be distributed gradually across several targeted areas in Jerusalem Governorate.
This intervention comes within the framework of improving farmers' and livestock breeders' access to water resources, contributing to the sustainability of livestock production and alleviating the burdens faced by breeders, especially in threatened and marginalized areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that implementing this activity is part of joint efforts with partners to support the resilience of citizens in Jerusalem Governorate and enhance food security by providing the basic needs that enable them to continue production and remain on their land.
This project embodies the ongoing role played by the Kingdom of Morocco, through Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency, in supporting the steadfastness of the people of Jerusalem and strengthening their presence on their land. The Kingdom pays special attention to the Holy City through the implementation of development programs targeting various sectors, foremost among them the agricultural sector. These efforts contribute to empowering farmers, improving their living conditions, and enhancing food security, reflecting a firm commitment to supporting the people of Jerusalem and preserving the Arab and Islamic character of the city.
