Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture conducted a field visit for the Saida-Tulkarm Livestock Group in Tubas Governorate, as part of the Improvement of Extension for (IVAP-3) project with participation of sixteen farmers.

The visit included a tour of the dairy processing unit belonging to Aqaba Association, where participants learned about best practices for processing milk and dairy products, as well as marketing mechanisms to ensure product quality and enhance market competitiveness. The tour also included a visit to a field of panicum grass grown using treated wastewater, to learn about green fodder production methods and their importance in reducing feeding costs and improving livestock productivity. Additionally, participants visited a feed mill to observe methods for preparing and formulating balanced feed mixes for sheep according to their nutritional needs.

The tour was attended by Dr. Mu'ayyad Salman, Director of the Extension Services Department at Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture, along with a three-member IVAP project team and four livestock extension agents (two from Tulkarm and two from Tubas). The tour, which came in response to the needs of the livestock group according to step (2) of the IFAP package, aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge in the areas of manufacturing and marketing dairy products, producing green fodder such as panicum, and preparing balanced feed mixtures, in order to contribute to raising the efficiency of animal production, improving income, and increasing the added value of the agricultural sector in the region.
