On Tuesday, veterinary service and animal health directorates and departments conducted preventive vaccination campaigns against several animal diseases—including foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in sheep, brucellosis, sheep pox, and PPR. These activities took place across six veterinary districts and areas within the Jerusalem, Tubas, Jenin, Qalqilya, and Hebron governorates. A total of 5,242 vaccine doses were administered, benefiting 149 livestock breeders and farmers, according to reported figures.
In Jerusalem Governorate, the Veterinary Services Department administered 500 doses against FMD and 200 doses against brucellosis, benefiting 20 breeders.
In Tubas Governorate, the Veterinary Services Department carried out vaccinations in the Al-Far'a and Al-Juba areas, administering 357 doses of FMD vaccine for sheep and 203 doses of brucellosis vaccine, benefiting 8 breeders.
In Jenin Governorate, the Veterinary Services Department administered 450 doses of FMD vaccine (SAT-1 strain) for sheep, 800 doses of sheep pox vaccine, and 200 doses of PPR vaccine, benefiting 11 breeders. In Qalqilya Governorate, 25 doses of Brucellosis vaccine were administered, benefiting four livestock breeders.
In the South Hebron/Dura area, the Department of Veterinary Services and Animal Health conducted a vaccination campaign in Karma and Deir Shams areas of Al-Dhahiriya. This campaign involved administering 250 doses of Brucellosis vaccine (benefiting 28 breeders) and 1,162 doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccine for sheep (benefiting 39 breeders).
Additionally, the Veterinary Services Department in North Hebron carried out a vaccination campaign in the Sa'ir, Surif, and Halhul areas, administering 820 doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccine for sheep and 275 doses of Brucellosis vaccine, benefiting 39 farmers.
