Governorates: September 28, 2026

The Veterinary Services and Animal Health directorates and departments of the Ministry of Agriculture conducted preventive livestock vaccination campaigns across eight governorates. The campaigns covered Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) in sheep, Brucellosis, Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), and Goat Pox. A total of 11,496 doses were administered, benefiting 251 livestock breeders.

In Jenin Governorate, the Veterinary Services Department administered 1,250 doses against FMD (SAT1 strain) , 225 doses against Brucellosis, 200 doses against PPR, and 50 doses against Goat Pox, benefiting 27 breeders.

In Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley Governorate, Veterinary Services teams operating at Al-Far'a site administered 875 doses against FMD in sheep and 235 doses against Brucellosis, benefiting 17 breeders. In the of South Hebron/Dura Governorate, the Veterinary Services and Animal Health Department conducted a vaccination campaign in Deir Samit and Al-Dhahiriya areas. This included administering 175 doses against brucellosis and 292 doses against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) to sheep, benefiting 39 livestock owners, as well as administering 400 doses against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) and sheep pox, benefiting 7 owners.

In Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, 4,000 doses of FMD vaccine were administered to sheep in the town of Shuqba, benefiting 30 livestock owners.

In Qalqilya Governorate, Veterinary Services administered 25 doses against brucellosis in Qalqilya area, benefiting one owner, in addition to 100 doses against sheep pox.

In Jerusalem Governorate, Veterinary Services administered 425 doses against brucellosis and 1,262 doses against FMD, benefiting 40 livestock owners.

In Hebron Governorate, 150 female replacement sheep were vaccinated against brucellosis in Al-Thaghra, Khallat Al-Zaytun, and Al-Bir Al-Sufli areas of Tarqumiya town, benefiting 20 livestock owners.

In Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate, Veterinary Services administered 1,424 doses of FMD vaccine to sheep and 408 doses against brucellosis, benefiting 68 farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture continues to implement preventive vaccination campaigns across various governorates as part of its efforts to protect livestock, curb the spread of epidemic diseases, improve herd health, and support breeders—thereby contributing to the preservation of livestock production and food security.
