Veterinary departments and directorates affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture carried out veterinary vaccination campaigns today, Thursday, in several areas across Jenin, Bethlehem, and Northern Hebron governorates. These efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to protect livestock and curb the spread of epidemic diseases.
In Jenin Governorate, the Veterinary Department conducted a vaccination campaign administering 625 doses against Brucellosis, 200 doses against Ovine Foot-and-Mouth Disease (SAT-1 strain), and 150 doses against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), benefiting 12 farmers.
In Bethlehem Governorate, the Veterinary Department conducted a campaign in Al-Fardis area, administering 240 doses against Foot-and-Mouth Disease and 46 doses against Brucellosis, benefiting 9 farmers.
Additionally, campaigns against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) were carried out—administering 200 doses across the towns of Al-Ubeidiya, Beit Fajjar, and Ad-Doha, benefiting 4 farmers, alongside 200 doses against sheep pox in the areas of Al-Ubeidiya, Ad-Doha, and Hindasa, benefiting 4 farmers. In the northern Hebron area, the Veterinary Department conducted a vaccination campaign in Halhul region, administering 530 doses against foot-and-mouth disease to sheep, 200 doses against brucellosis, and 100 doses against sheep pox and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR); thirty-five farmers benefited from the campaign.
These campaigns are part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s plan to enhance preventive vaccination for livestock and improve health protection for herds, thereby helping to mitigate potential losses from epidemic diseases, support the stability and sustainability of the livestock sector, and bolster the resilience of farmers.
