Ministry of Agriculture: The Directorate of Agriculture in Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley is implementing a training activity to promote the sustainable management of water resources

The Ministry of Agriculture, through Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, conducted an exchange farming activity with the participation of farmers from Beit Dajan, Tayasir, and Aqaba areas. This initiative is part of the Ministry's efforts to promote the sustainable management of water resources in the agricultural sector.

The training was held at Tubas Sports Club and included a review of wastewater disinfection mechanisms and collection wells, as well as methods for using modern technologies to reduce salinity and improve the efficiency of irrigation systems, in accordance with agricultural safety standards, soil protection, and the preservation of natural resources.

The activity also included practical experiments to measure the agricultural and economic feasibility of using treated wastewater, studying its impact on production and crop quality, presenting an analytical overview of the economic costs compared to traditional water sources, and discussing the results of soil salinity analyses and their potential long-term effects.

The Directorate emphasizes the importance of continuing these training sessions to enhance farmers' skills and empower them to adopt modern agricultural practices and technologies that contribute to sustainable production and strengthen their resilience in the face of the water challenges facing the region.
