Salfit Directorate of Agriculture, represented by the Olive Department and with funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), conducted a field day on olive tree pruning in the village of Farkha, as part of the Olive Field Schools project.
The activity was carried out by the Director General of Agriculture in Salfit, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Hamad, and several members of the Directorate's staff. The field day included a theoretical lecture on the scientific principles of olive tree pruning, followed by practical application in the field, with the aim of increasing farmers' efficiency and improving productivity and fruit quality.
Fifteen farmers from the village are benefiting from this project, which aims to enhance their capabilities and develop their technical skills in olive orchard management. This activity is part of the Olive Value Chain project, which aims to develop the olive sector, improve product quality, and promote sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.
