Salfit Agriculture Directorate, represented by the Olive Department, and with funding from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), implemented a field day on pruning olive trees in the town of Iskaka, as part of the Olive Field Schools project.
The Director General of Salfit Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Hamad, and a number of the directorate’s cadres participated in implementing the activity. The field day included a theoretical lecture that dealt with the scientific foundations of pruning olive trees, followed by a practical application in the field, with the aim of raising farmers’ efficiency and improving productivity.
This project benefits 15 women from the town, within the framework of enhancing the role of rural women and building their capabilities in the agricultural field. This activity comes within the olive value chain project, which aims to develop the olive sector, improve product quality, and promote sustainable livelihoods
