Salfit Directorate of Agriculture, through the Head of the Olive Department, Engineer Awland Ajlouni, conducted a field demonstration on supplemental irrigation for olive trees in the village of Farkha. This demonstration was part of the field school activities implemented within the "My Initiative" project, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The field demonstration targeted 15 farmers participating in the field schools in Farkha village. It focused on supplemental irrigation applications and their importance in improving olive tree growth and increasing productivity, as well as enhancing water use efficiency and adopting sound agricultural practices that contribute to improving the quality and sustainability of production.
This activity is part of a series of field schools implemented by Salfit Directorate of Agriculture in the villages of Farkha and Iskaka. The aim is to develop the skills of olive farmers and transfer modern agricultural practices to them, thereby enhancing the productivity of olive groves and supporting the resilience of farmers and the sustainability of the agricultural sector in the governorate.
