As part of its oversight and regulatory role, the Ministry of Agriculture, through its directorate in Yatta, represented by the Agricultural Control and Prevention Departments, and in partnership with the Directorates of National Economy and Health, conducted field visits targeting several date, poultry, and frozen meat shops in Yatta, as well as plant nurseries and agricultural pesticide sales and distribution centers in the area.
The visits aimed to monitor the extent to which shop and nursery owners are complying with the necessary licenses and adhering to applicable regulations and instructions, thus ensuring the safety of food and agricultural products offered to citizens and protecting public health.
During the visits, the teams also focused on verifying the proper storage conditions of products and their suitability for consumption, in addition to regulating the sale and distribution of agricultural pesticides according to technical and legal standards, thereby contributing to the protection of farmers and the environment from misuse.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms its commitment to continuing these periodic oversight visits in cooperation with its partners, to strengthen the oversight system and ensure the quality and safety of products in local markets.
