Ministry of Agriculture: The Directorate of Agriculture in Tulkarm implemented a project to establish economic carob plots by planting 100 seedlings in partnership with Kafr Abboush Village Council

Tulkarm: February 16, 2026

Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture implemented a project to establish economically viable carob orchards in the town of Kafr Abboush. This involved providing the municipal council with 100 carob saplings, which were planted according to the approved technical requirements for this crop. The project was carried out with the participation of the Director General of the Directorate, Engineer Ashraf Anabtawi, and his staff, along with the Kafr Abboush Village Council, Kafr Abboush Agricultural Association, and Kafr Abboush Secondary School.

This project is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's plan to support farmers' resilience, enhance agricultural sustainability, and increase productivity. It aligns with the Ministry's focus on diversifying agricultural varieties and encouraging the cultivation of economically viable trees that can adapt to climatic conditions.

The Directorate affirms that this activity is one of a series of initiatives to be implemented in the governorate in response to farmers' needs and in partnership with local authorities and educational institutions. This ensures the sustainability of these projects and their ongoing monitoring in the field. For their part, representatives of the local community in Kafr Abboush appreciated this participation, affirming their readiness to continue cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture in implementing high-quality agricultural projects that contribute to spreading agricultural awareness and fostering a spirit of initiative among students and farmers.

This step is expected to contribute to the expansion of carob cultivation in the future, which will positively impact the local economy and agricultural diversification, ultimately enhancing food security.
