The staff of Jenin Governorate Agriculture Directorate, in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted an awareness-raising field visit to Tubas Governorate as part of the EVAP 3 project activities. Fourteen farmers from the "Our Home" farmers' group participated.
The visit included a tour of a dairy factory in the village of Al-Aqaba in Tubas Governorate, where participants learned about the proper milk pasteurization processes and the mechanisms for manufacturing dairy products and cheeses according to sound technical principles, ensuring product quality and safety.
The tour also included a visit to a composting plant, where participants learned about the manufacturing stages, the components of these fertilizers, and their importance in improving soil fertility and enhancing agricultural production in environmentally friendly ways.
The tour concluded with a visit to a farm cultivating Gundelia (a type of thistle), where participants learned about the agricultural practices used in producing this non-traditional crop and the key practices that contribute to its successful cultivation and marketing. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this tour comes within the framework of promoting the exchange of experiences and transfer of knowledge among farmers, and opening new horizons for them to adopt modern agricultural and manufacturing practices that contribute to the development of their projects and enhance their sustainability.
