Jenin Agriculture Directorate, in partnership with the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development, distributed 2,645 almond seedlings to 14 farmers in the towns of Arraba, Kafr Ra’i and Ajja, as part of the project “Improving livelihoods and enhancing the resilience of small farmers and sustainable agriculture in light of the current changing circumstances,” as part of joint efforts to support the agricultural sector and enable farmers to continue working and producing.
The intervention aimed to provide farmers with quality almond seedlings to plant on their lands, which contributes to increasing the areas planted with fruit trees, improving land productivity, and raising the efficiency of its investment, in addition to providing a sustainable source of income for agricultural families, and enhancing the ability of small farmers to face the challenges posed by the current reality.
The implementation of this activity comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners to enhance the resilience of small farmers, support the sustainability of agricultural production, and encourage investment in agricultural land, which reflects positively on food security and sustainable agricultural development, and contributes to preserving the land and enhancing the resilience of farmers in Jenin Governorate.
