Jerusalem - February 12, 2026

The Ministry of Agriculture continues to implement its Field School activities as part of its extension programs aimed at developing the olive sector. A field day was held in the town of Abu Dis on how to graft and propagate olive trees using various methods. This activity was part of the Field Schools project, funded by Jerusalem Endowment Fund, in cooperation with Jerusalem Governorate, and under the supervision of Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate.

The activity was part of the ongoing seasonal activities of the Field School. Farmers received practical training on olive tree grafting techniques and were taught the correct technical principles of the grafting process, which contributes to improving productivity and preserving high-quality varieties.

Engineers Muhammad Sarhan and Munjid Tarda conducted the practical application of olive tree grafting and propagation with the participation of farmers. The necessary grafting tools were also distributed to the participants to support their continued application of the acquired skills in their fields.

This activity is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to enhance the capabilities of olive farmers and develop their agricultural practices, contributing to improved production quality and strengthening their resilience on their land.
