Ramallah: February 16, 2026
Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate, in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted an awareness-raising field visit in Ramallah Governorate as part of the EVAP 3 project activities. Twenty female farmers participated from the Al-Judeira Women's Food Processing Group.
The visit included Beit Liqya Cooperative Society, the Barbara Cooperative Society in Aboud, and Deir Ghassaneh Cooperative Society. Participants learned about proper techniques for pickling and drying food products, as well as the production of sumac, molokhia, and tomato paste. Discussions also focused on achieving self-sufficiency and enhancing product marketing skills to improve income and ensure the sustainability of home-based businesses.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this visit aims to promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge among farmers, opening new avenues for adopting modern agricultural and processing practices that contribute to the development and sustainability of small businesses. The focus is on empowering rural women economically and socially and supporting their role in achieving food security.
