On Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture—represented by veterinary service departments in Hebron and Jenin governorates—conducted veterinary vaccination campaigns targeting livestock in several areas. The campaigns involved administering 2,470 doses/vaccinations to sheep against brucellosis, foot-and-mouth disease, PPR, and sheep pox, benefiting 99 livestock breeders.
In Hebron Governorate, 100 female replacement sheep were vaccinated against brucellosis and 290 head against foot-and-mouth disease in Jabal Jawhar and Wadi Al-Baqar areas of Hebron city, benefiting 26 breeders. Additionally, the Veterinary Services and Animal Health Department for South Hebron (Dura) administered 225 doses against brucellosis to 30 breeders, 1,130 doses against foot-and-mouth disease to 28 breeders, and 100 doses against PPR to two breeders in Beit Awwa and Al-Dhahiriya areas.
In Jenin Governorate, the Veterinary Department administered 175 doses against brucellosis, 250 doses against PPR, and 200 doses against sheep pox, benefiting 13 breeders. These campaigns are part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s ongoing efforts regarding veterinary vaccination and the prevention of epidemic diseases, thereby contributing to the protection of livestock, the preservation of herd health, support for livestock breeders, and the enhancement of livestock production sustainability.
