Mithalon Agriculture and Veterinary Department, under Jenin Directorate of Agriculture, distributed irrigation network equipment to 30 vegetable farmers in the town of Mithalon. This initiative was carried out in partnership with the German Hydrologists Group (GIZ) and with funding from German Cooperation, as part of a project to improve livelihoods and enhance the resilience of small-scale farmers and promote sustainable agriculture in light of current changing circumstances.
The assistance provided included 1,000 meters of regular irrigation lines for each farmer, in addition to 50 meters of a 2-inch main line. This will contribute to developing irrigation systems, conserving water, and increasing the efficiency of water resource use in agricultural production.
This intervention is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners to support small-scale farmers, enhance their ability to continue agricultural production, and improve the productivity of vegetable crops, thereby contributing to strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector and achieving sustainable agricultural development.
