Under the supervision and participation of Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate and implemented by the Palestinian Hydrologists Group, irrigation networks and transmission lines were distributed to 23 farmers

Under the supervision and participation of Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Directorate of Agriculture, 23 farmers in Tayasir, Aqaba, Tubas Plain, and Tammoun areas received a distribution of pressure-controlled sub-networks, main transmission lines, and related equipment. This initiative falls under the Water, Land, and Agricultural Roads Investment Program, funded by the Dutch government and implemented by the Palestinian Hydrologists Group, managed by the Welfare Association in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture.

This intervention aims to improve the efficiency of irrigation water management and its use on agricultural lands by providing pressure-controlled irrigation networks and main transmission lines. This will ensure more regular and efficient water distribution, helping farmers improve irrigation management and make optimal use of available water resources.

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that improving water use efficiency in the agricultural sector is a priority given the limited water resources and increasing agricultural needs. It also highlights the importance of transitioning to more efficient irrigation systems that contribute to increased water productivity, improved agricultural land productivity, and reduced irrigation water loss. The project is being implemented as part of the Ministry’s efforts to support farmers and enhance their ability to continue investing in their agricultural lands, improve agricultural infrastructure, and develop production methods in a way that promotes the sustainability of the agricultural sector and the resilience of farmers in Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley governorates.
