Ministry of Agriculture: With participation of Jericho Agriculture Directorate, Agricultural Relief has begun distributing rehabilitation supplies for 14 dunams of grape farms benefiting seven farmers in Al-Jiftlik.

Under the supervision and participation of Jericho and Jordan Valley Directorate of Agriculture, the Agricultural Relief Association began implementing the first phase of distributing supplies for rehabilitating existing vineyards to beneficiary farmers in the Jiftlik area. This initiative is part of joint efforts aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and strengthening farmers' resilience.

The distribution targeted seven farmers who own existing vineyards with a total area of ​​14 dunams. The first phase included distributing the necessary metal components for constructing agricultural trellises, which are essential elements in developing vineyards and improving their agricultural management.

Jericho and Jordan Valley Directorate of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of this intervention in supporting grape farmers and improving production efficiency. Agricultural trellises contribute to improved ventilation and sunlight exposure, and facilitate agricultural operations and harvesting, which positively impacts fruit quality and increases productivity.

The project is expected to contribute to enhancing the economic returns for beneficiary farming families, increasing the competitiveness of the grape crop, and encouraging farmers to invest in developing their vineyards and improving their productive sustainability. This activity comes within the framework of the project “Improving Livelihoods, Food Security and Sustainable Economic Growth in the West Bank and Gaza Strip – Palestine”, which aims to enhance food security, improve the living conditions of farming families and support sustainable agricultural development in the targeted areas, through the implementation of a range of activities and interventions that contribute to the development of agricultural production and enhance the resilience of farmers on their land.
