Under the supervision and participation of Jenin Agriculture Directorate, the Agricultural Relief Society implemented the activity of distributing shade net rolls as part of a project aimed at rehabilitating grape farms and enhancing the resilience of farmers in Jenin Governorate.
The activity included the distribution of 126 rolls of shade netting, benefiting 34 farmers in Arraba, Jenin, Marj Bin Amer, Al-Yamoun, Silat Al-Harithiya, Taanak, Rummaneh, and Anin, in order to complete the requirements for rehabilitating grape farms and improving agricultural production conditions.
Jenin Agriculture confirms that this intervention falls within the efforts aimed at supporting farmers and enabling them to develop their farms and improve the quality of their production, which contributes to increasing productivity and enhancing the sustainability of agricultural work.
The Directorate indicates that the use of shade netting contributes to protecting agricultural crops from different weather conditions, reducing the effects of climate change, in addition to improving the quality of fruits and maintaining production.
The implementation of this activity comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Society, with support and funding from the Dutch government, as part of the efforts aimed at strengthening the steadfastness of Palestinian farmers and supporting their investment in their agricultural lands.
The Ministry of Agriculture values the partnership with civil society institutions and agencies supporting the agricultural sector, stressing the continuation of work on implementing development programs and projects that respond to the needs of farmers and contribute to developing the agricultural sector and enhancing food security.
