The National Campaign for Livestock Tagging and Preventive Vaccination against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (SAT-1) continued its field operations on the fourth day of its fourth week, bringing the cumulative total since its launch to 93,040 vaccinations and tagging operations. This is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to strengthen the animal health system, reduce the spread of epidemic diseases, and protect livestock in the targeted areas.
Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks against Ministry of Agriculture staff and livestock breeders, detaining two vehicles belonging to Tubas Veterinary Directorate and the veterinary team operating them in Ras al-Ahmar area, east of Tammun town. The vehicles were en route to the northern Jordan Valley to carry out the vaccination campaign, and the veterinary teams were prevented from reaching their work sites on time, thus preventing the completion of the vaccination and tagging operations in the targeted area for the day.
In Khashm al-Daraj and Wadi Jheish areas of Masafer Yatta, veterinary teams continued their campaign, vaccinating 1,400 head of livestock against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) and tagging 1,700 head as part of the national livestock tagging program. Thirty-five breeders benefited from the campaign's services. A total of 3,100 operations were completed today, including 1,400 vaccinations and 1,700 tagging operations, bringing the cumulative total for the campaign to 93,040 operations since its launch. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that the occupation's attacks on veterinary teams will not deter it from continuing to implement the national campaign and reach the targeted pastoral communities, based on its responsibility to protect livestock, enhance food security, and support the resilience of livestock breeders in various Palestinian areas.
